  • Literature Faces



The series of portraits emerged from a regular reading event held in the studio of Illustration and Graphics at UMPRUM. Prominent contemporary writers and poets from the Czech Republic like Petr Placák, Jan Novák, Martina Pachmanová, Vojtěch Mašek, Pavel Klusák and Petra Hůlová presented their work while the students drew their portraits. 

The Literature Faces by Paul Tuttas are linocuts that have been refined from drawings, aiming to capture a unique expression. All the while, they play with diverse structures, sizes, and contrasts that are so characteristic for the linocut technique.
